2021 International Women’s Day Celebration #ChoosetoChallenge
Join SowHope in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2021 at 12:00pm and 7:00pm EST. We will be hosting an inspirational virtual event to salute the tremendous efforts and successes made by women during this unprecedented year of challenges due to COVID-19. This year’s IWD theme is #ChoosetoChallenge. SowHope will be conducting a panel discussion with some of our partners and project leaders; extraordinary women leaders from developing countries who are dedicated to creating a better and more equal future for women and girls in their communities, countries, and beyond. These leaders “Choose to Challenge” daily!
Meet Jyoti, a fearless project leader, who travels to remote villages in Nepal to conduct economic projects to empower impoverished women to not just survive the pandemic, but to thrive in it. She also leads a wellness project which seeks out women with serious personal gynecological needs stemming from pro-lapsed uteruses.
Meet Rasmata, a registered nurse, with her surgeon husband Dr. Itengré. These SowHope partners have devoted their lives to performing life-changing fistula repair surgeries for women so they no longer have to suffer the stigmatization, ridicule, shame, and isolation of untreated fistula damage. The result of their work transforms and empowers the women that they help.
Meet even more of these inspiring “Superheroes for Women” by attending for this free half-hour IWD celebratory event at SowHope.org/IWD2021. Join SowHope live on Monday, March 8th at 12 PM during lunch hour or 7 PM (EST) in the evening with your family and friends. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and hear how these partners “Choose to Challenge” daily to make a difference for women in our world. Event will stream live at sowhope.org and on YouTube Live and Facebook Live on the SowHope networks.
