ATLANTA, Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Little PINK Book, the #1 digital platform for America’s career women, releases its Top Women in Philanthropy list on January 26th. Little PINK Book will showcase 11 women working to better the world through nonprofit initiatives.
The women were selected based on their leadership roles and the scope of aid the organizations provide. The top women share their proudest moments and goals for 2012 and beyond.
They are: Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc.’s Melissa Berman, SowHope’s Mary Dailey Brown, One Hundred Days’ Kelli Sasser, CASA Los Angeles’ Dilys Garcia, Itsatwist’s Isabel Garreton, Do Something’s Nancy Lublin, Solar Sister’s Katherine Lucey, MedRebels Foundation’s Shay McBurney, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s Janice McKenzie-Crayton, Dove Missions’ Liz Sunel and the Eating Disorder Information Network’s Lisbeth Rhine.
“These women are truly inspiring,” says Little PINK Book CEO Cynthia Good. “They are improving the world and making a difference every single day, and following Mahatma Gandhi’s suggestion, ‘You must be the change you wish to see in the world.’ They are also great examples of embracing the courage to do what you love.”
The leaders featured share a tireless commitment to providing aid to those in need all over the world, from their backyard to places like the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
Best practices include programs for mentoring troubled youth, building hospitals in developing countries, providing jobs for women struggling to feed their families and educating people about the merits of stem cell therapy. They walk the walk, acting as powerful voices for those in need at work, in their communities and at home.
E-note subscribers can also vote for their #1 Top Woman in Philanthropy. The winner’s organization will be the featured nonprofit at Little PINK Book’s 3rd annual Spring into Ownership event. Voting is open now until Feb. 3.
